it ain’t no alexandria

It’s Saturday morning in the Antioch Public Library. I am sitting at computer # 40. From the teen section, to my left: a “young adult” is piling the fabric-covered bean bags (now the only seating available in this area, since, as everyone knows, teens are too young and cool to sit in chairs or need a writing surface) in a stack four high, which is over his head. He has set up a low stool in front of it, is going out into the main section and taking a good running start, using the stool as a vault launch, and trying to leap to the top of the pile. This is the third act, as he began by throwing himself stomach down on the individual bean bags, and then progressed to stacks of two, all the while whistling loudly…
