après moi… you know

March 24, 2011

Finally it is raining for real today! Day after day we get predictions of “rain” wind” “thunder” “1/2 inch to 1 inch,” and then I watch the Doppler Radar on The Weather Channel and there’s a huge mass of green with a little empty space in the middle, passing right over Antioch.

I get very tired of hearing, “it poured all night in Brentwood.” “It poured all day in Martinez.” Antioch seems to get the short end of the stick in everything.

Been raining like crazy in the Bay too. I guess we need the rain but the level of stupidity people display when driving in the rain is pretty annoying.

Also, just realized why you know “libbi”. Heart of the City is libbi ali(m) in Akkadian.

Ha ha yes– I kind of meant it to refer to the “old quarter.”

I know– people are crazy. What is wrong with slowing down? It makes me think of that public safety campaign from a few years ago– “stopping is part of driving.” I thought it was brilliant, though I’m sure, ineffective.
